Heel Pain

Bare Feet_edited.jpg

Heel pain is a common foot condition that can cause significant discomfort. One of the most frequent causes is plantar fasciitis, which occurs when the tissue connecting the heel to the toes becomes inflamed, leading to pain on the bottom of the heel.

Other potential causes of heel pain include:

  •  Stress fractures

  • Arthritis

  • Nerve irritation

  • Cysts

  • Tendonitis

Metatarsalgia is another foot condition that can cause pain in the ball of the foot. It is often experienced by physically active individuals due to repetitive impact.

Symptoms may include:

  • Sharp or dull pain in the ball of the foot

  • Pain that worsens during activity and improves with rest

  • Numbness or pain in the toes

  • Pain that is worse when barefoot

If you're experiencing heel pain, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional who can diagnose the underlying cause and recommend appropriate treatment options.

Orthotics, specialized shoe inserts, can often provide support and alleviate symptoms.
